San Francisco is a beautiful city with a long list of possibilities.

Rich with sightseeing opportunities, San Francisco boasts magnificent beaches, museums, fine dining, shopping, sports and cultural events.

Some Fun Things To See and Do

Begin exploring The City by The Bay by heading just across the street to Ocean Beach, which is great for walking, or just enjoying the spectacular view. A short distance north of the Inn is the Historic Cliff House, which offers fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean and Sutro Baths as well as fine dining.

Larger than Central Park in New York City, Golden Gate Park boasts a variety of activities both indoor and out. Paved paths are a favorite for walking, jogging and biking. The Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Gardens, Strybing Arboretum and California Academy of Sciences (housing the Morrison Planetarium, Steinhart Aquarium and Natural History Museum) are open year round.

The Marina District is home to the legendary Palace of Fine Arts, The Exploratorium (an interactive science museum) and the Fort Mason Center. The Golden Gate Promenade runs along the shore for 3.5 miles from Hyde Street to Fort Point. Chestnut Street offers trendy shopping while the stretch of park along the waterfront is a beautiful spot to fly kites, play volleyball or relax and enjoy the amazing views of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and the Bay.

San Francisco's Chinatown is known for shopping and dim sum, a brunch or lunch of savory and sweet delicacies. The famous Chinatown gate invites tourists and shoppers at Grant Avenue and Bush Street. Trading companies sell a wide variety of wares including silk robes, hand-carved toys, antiques and herbs.

Union Square is the heart of San Francisco's upscale shopping district. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Macy's and designer boutiques flank the square. A few blocks away, San Francisco Center includes Nordstrom, other brand name stores and boutique shopping.
